• A project home is in the hands of a salesperson, therefore at this stage they are very interested to make a sale, under any condition. Without malicious intention, you may very well be misled.
• The project fails to start on time (this could be due to the overall work load of the project builder)
• Major delays can occur because of weather and disputes. Usually they will have a clause hidden somewhere in the contract that allows them to finish your project when they can, not when you want it finished.
• Any changes or variations to the original plans once the contract is signed will cost you dearly.
• Most project homes have been designed by drafting people who design for project home builders for economical reasons rather than the needs of the client. Their design has been put together based on a need to plot bedrooms and other home rooms into a square box to maximise the profit for the project builder and provide little to the owner. The aim is to build as cheaply as possible but the end result is that it will still be costly to you, the client.
• Most drafts people do not take into consideration factors of your convenience, the suitability of the surrounding area, the terrain or block of land.
• Project builders have no personal attachment to your home; therefore the detail to finished areas is of no importance to them.

Contrary to popular belief that in choosing a project builder you don’t have to be so responsible for all the decisions!

This is the worse attitude you could take simply because that can be the exactly attitude that you will find for the people employed by Project Builders.

When hiring the services of a Project Builder you need to be on your guard if you value the money you are spending on the project.
